Good Governance Africa Francophone

GENERAL ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

Good Governance Africa is an independent, registered NPO that works to improve government performance in Africa through research and advocacy that promotes fact-based knowledge.

GGA Francophone as far as its branch located in Goree Institute headquarters is concerned is looking for a General Administrative Assistant. As GGA Francophone General Administrative Assistant, you will provide support to the GGA Francophone Programmes Officer by handling a series of tasks aimed to run efficiently GGA Francophone programmes.

GGA Francophone researches analyses and interprets information aligned with its focus areas across context-driven centres in Africa. GGA conducts targeted research, promotes fact-based knowledge and propagates ethical values. Core areas include Local Governance and Grassroots Democracy, Natural Resources, National Security, Childhood Development and Youth Formation, and the Promotion of Ethical Values and Spirituality, amongst others.

Duties include:

  • Provide administrative and logistical support to GGA Francophone Programmes Officer
  • Develop and maintain a filing system
  • Manage GGA Francophone contacts’ databases
  • Book travel arrangements for GGA Francophone Programmes Officer
  • Manage the telephone and the general reception of partner and visitors
  • Provide support, and manage GGA Francophone Programmes Officer activities’ planning
  • Liaison with GGA general admin assistant and partners

Requirements:

  • Demonstrable training and education in administrative management
  • Demonstrable administrative management experience, a minimum of five years’ management experience (non-negotiable)
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Be very respectful of rules of confidentiality
  • Proficiency in MS Office’s applications
  • Excellent time-management skills
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrable ability to work within tight deadlines
  • Bilingual French – English
